Girls are home!

Victory! Lauren got the girls to Nancy in Fort Wayne over the weekend. They are both very happy and remember Mama Nancy and all their things in Nancy's new house! I left 3 happy beings on Sunday!

Trying to catch the girls to put them into the cage was exciting. Hans spent 15 minutes talking to Mia behind the dryer before he realized that wasn't Mia but a lint cat!

Mia can be dramatic

Earlier this week, I kept hearing meows resonating throughout the walls.  I figured one of the girls got trapped.  After finding Nala relaxing in the living room underneath a large, plaited palm blanket, I knew it was Mia calling or sounding off.  Every time I went downstairs, the meowing stopped.

After a couple of hours of searching in all the usual places, I searched the unusual. Still no Mia! Yet, the meowing still came.  I finally located her behind the laundry utility access ports.  Access to this declivity had been made restricted (blocked off with lengths of wood) after Nala hid there earlier. So, I did not think to look there.  The only reason I found Mia was that she kept meowing long enough for me to locate her.  A partial log of my interrogation of the Cat-Of-Interest is presented below.

Here is my considered opinion and conspiracy theory:
Mia must have been shown the hideaway by Nala OR Mia was forced to hide there Nala.

To get back there, Mia had to have jumped up onto the washing machine and then down again behind my wood barrier.

Once back there, Mia must have decided it was not worth it, and so she started here sonic volleys.

Why?  Because cats are dramatic!

Epilogue: Mia is Feline Fine!!!  I removed the man-placed barrier in the laundry, and Mia came out at her own time and pace for her kabibbles.  I have not seen Mia in that space since.

New Home-Owner Advice:  don't underestimate the cat's desire to thwart your barricade -- even if extremely well sealed off!

The cat is ...

The cat is, above all things, a dramatist.
--Margaret Benson, English writer

Now, while you contemplate this Pissaro-esque (or is it Seurat?) image of Nala, consider the idea that she could lure Mia into difficult situations.

Cats know when you're not feeling well

My apologies for the absence of recent posts; the girls are fine!
I was under the weather with a rare spring cold, the onset of which occurred after Lauren and Alden departed on Saturday.  Remarkably, I received care visits and consideration from both of them. And, I obtained rare photographic evidence of just how sweet Nala can be!

Missing them

So here's a different cutie.

Cats ok, Hans has been sick

Posts coming from Hans. He's been sick and has lots of stories about the girls.....
